Do you have a passport to heaven? Heaven is a beautiful place to visit. Everything about heaven is God-breathe. God is in heaven, and if you want to meet God, you need a passport now, so that when you die, you can secure a place in heaven.
But how does you secure a passport to heaven? Is it what you do, to do good? Or, perhaps you give to charity and help the poor? Maybe you are religious but you do not have a relationship with God. After all, you can say you live a pretty good life without cheating or kill or commit adultery. But do all these things that you do ensure that you have a passport to heaven?
Do all roads of religion lead you to heaven? Can you recognise that we are all sinners and it is pretty hard for us to think of heaven as our home. God is light, and He does not entertain darkness at all. Man and God is separated because of sin. Sin mars us away from God. We are eternally separated from God because we are by nature sinful.
There is a gulf between heaven and earth. We are all in total darkness. However, it pains God to see us eternally dead, but God has a solution for us through His Son. He sent Jesus His Son to come to this earth to bridge that gap between God and men. Jesus willingly came to this earth 2000 years ago as a baby born in a manger. He grew up as a Son of Man as well as the Son of God. He is God’s only begotten Son.
The price that Jesus had to pay to redeem mankind from sin was enormous. He had to bear the whole world’s sin on His body on the cross when He willingly died on the cross for both your sins and my sins. It had been done and it is paid in full – our sin on His body – when you believe in Him, you shall be saved.
Jesus had done it all on Calvary’s cross. When you acknowledge that you are sinners and believe that Jesus died on the cross for your sin, and believe that He is the Son of God, the moment you believe in Jesus and accept Him as your Saviour, you shall be saved.
The cross that Jesus died bridged the gap between God and men. All you have to do is just believe and you shall be saved. When you believe in Jesus and call upon Him, He will come into your life, live with you and make you whole. All your sins will be washed and forgiven, and you shall be saved. The name of Jesus frees you from your sins. All you have to do is to call upon Him now and He will come into your life. Open up your heart to Him and see your salvation at hand. It only takes a step, and that is to invite Jesus into your heart and you are washed and cleansed by the blood of Jesus.
